Some answers to Frequently Asked Questions about our shipping policies.


Do you deliver to where I live?

Yes, we deliver anywhere in the world! From our CharlieDog address in Tarrytown, New York we ship via the United States Postal Service, FedEx and UPS.  We have three shipping options for you to choose from: First Class, Priority and Express.

Where are you based?

CharlieDog and Friends is located in little Tarrytown, New York, USA, on the banks for the Hudson River.   Shipping happens not far away, in Hawthorne, New York.

What kind of packaging do you use?

We love mail.  We love getting boxes in the mail.  And when they’re labeled “Special Delivery” on the outside, and when what’s inside isn’t instantly obvious, but hidden in a secret bundle of crisp, slightly-scented tissue and colorful crinkle nesting paper — that’s the best.  It’s all held together with a CharlieDog sticker and accompanied with Erica Sirotich’s specially-illustrated Thank You card.
We take a lot of pride in our packaging, and if you’re sending a CharlieDog through the mail as a gift (see below), you can be assured that the opening of the package will be just as fun as what’s inside.

Can I send a CharlieDog toy as a gift?

Absolutely.  Send a CharlieDog toy for a birthday, Valentines Day, Christmas, “Gotcha” Day (the day you adopt a new pet from the shelter or rescue!), or just because.  Our bracelets make great little gifts for friends and family who are passionate about rescue (or who you want to taunt for buying from a pet shop)!

If you leave us a note in your order, we’ll hand write it onto a beautiful CharlieDog card at no extra charge.  These cards are sealed in an embossed, glassine envelope and held shut with a CharlieDog sticker (we are HUGE fans of Erica Sirotich’s work and use it wherever we can!)

What happens to my delivery if I’m not at home?

If you order a full-size (17″) toy, it is shipped in a box that measures 16″ x 12″ x 4″.  Not small enough to fit through a domestic mailbox, but then again you’ve probably dealt with that before!  If you work during the day, you might want to have your order delivered to your work address.

I want to place a large order. Will it all ship together?

We do try to ship whole orders together, but if it’s too large, we might split it up (but we’ll keep it to a minimum).

I want to place a large order and have different packs delivered to different places. Do I still qualify for reduced shipping costs?

Sorry, no. We have to pay shipping for every separate delivery; we can only cut the price when multiple items are going to the same delivery address.

I’ve got an English version of my address and one in a non-Western alphabet. Which version should I use?

If possible, we’d like the English version, please. We can of course print other character sets, but it’s easier if you give us the English version, in case we need to look you up.

Can I track my order?

In most cases, we send confirmation of the shipping of your order and this comes with a tracking number.  USPS doesn’t give a lot of information in the window that opens when you track a package, but here’s a tip: click on the link that says “more details”, and you’ll get….more details.  You can see exactly where your package is!  You can also follow the link at the bottom of the home page that says, “Track my Order”.

How quickly, and on what days, do you send out orders?

Place your CharlieDog order before 3 pm, and we’ll get it out the door that day.  We ship every weekday, plus Saturdays.

How much does postage and packaging cost?

It depends what you’ve ordered and which shipping method you have selected. We’ll show you exact prices when you make your order.
