The warm, sleepy orange tabby cat you see before you is Clyde,
adopted from
Pets Alive, an innovative No-Kill shelter in Middletown,
New York.
Brimming with personality as well as great kitty handsomeness, Clyde
came to live with Sandy Armor in Rhode Island, joining her brood of
rescued cats -- six in all from Middletown -- and fitting in perfectly.
Sandy describes Clyde:
"Clyde, aka C.C., Cecil, Ceebs, the Golden Bear, would
purr at the drop of a hat. One of my favorite things was his
head-butting me, sometimes so gently and other times - BOOM! He would
approach the other cats, bow his head, and wait for them to kiss him on
top of his head and they would almost always oblige. Of course he loved
to sleep in sunbeams, but he was also a cuddler next to me on the sofa
at night. He loved to play with catnip candy canes, scratching on the
corrugated scratching boards, playing with empty paper towel rolls
digging at them with his back feet while holding on with his front
feet. When I bounced his pink ping pong ball, his head would bob up and
down with each bounce. He loved to lie at the bottom of the stairs,
hugging the bottom riser. He loved to watch birds from the windows and
back door and made the greatest chattering sound when he saw them. He
would always knead with his feet on his bed or any other soft spot,
purring all the time. He loved to chase his sister, Dusty (which she
didn't appreciate). I'm not sure if you can tell from the photos, but
he was a big, tall, long boy. He had a creamy white chest and tummy,
which he'd let you rub for awhile before deciding he was done. His big
white feet seemed the perfect little round balls."
The CharlieDog and Friends "Clyde" is old-fashioned and heavy, a
great companion for a young child, or a beautiful soft sculpture for an
overstuffed chair or bedroom. You'll love the way Clyde arrives,
packaged in a nest of tissue paper and colorful crinkle. Best of all,
when you purchase Clyde, $5.00 of your purchase price goes directly to
Pets Alive, as it continues to rescue and shelter homeless animals from
New York City and beyond.
Thank you for bringing Clyde home! :0)
